Your Bloom, Your Shine
You might be feeling a chill. Or dreaming of warmer weather. Or maybe you’re already basking under the sun’s rays (with your SPF on, of course).* I’m right there with you. These two collections have been traveling with me through most of the pop-ups over the last 6 months including the freezing cold. I’m sharing them online for our sale period.
On an unusually warm and random Monday earlier this fall, my friend Chris and I took to shooting some warm weather looks. I was inspired by a particular James Baldwin postcard in a series celebrating black authors. I purchased the postcards (Audre Lorde, Langston Hughes, Octavia Butler, James Baldwin, and Maya Angelo who currently reside on my vision board and side-eye me into writing more) at a street festival in Harlem last year. I’ve been a fan of the artist who created them, Makeba Rainey (@justkeebs), ever since. Selecting items that “popped” from the “In Bloom, In Line Collection,” I wanted to play with layering textures and colors.
After this amazing shoot, I was inspired to try layering texture and color through actual fabric collage using wares from the “Shine On” Collection.
Hopefully these looks take you to warmer climes, either literally (yay for holidays) or in your imagination. You can get them shipped out before the end of the year at a can’t-beat price. Or better yet, I’d gladly see you at an upcoming pop-up right here in Brooklyn before 2019 ends (while supplies last).
